Souffleuses are an endangered species from the root vegetable family. They look at the world from below. Out of the hole, so to speak. They know the whole play and all the performers. But nobody knows them. Their whispering is only called for when the thread breaks in the light.
Souffleuse Hanna lives for the theater. And under the theater. She has made herself comfortable in the stage underground. So she can practically work out of bed and only needs to dress up to chest level. That's all you see of her anyway. For the audience she is an invisible anyway.
Hanna works with dedication. The actors recognize her by her voice - and by the smell of her feet. It's a shady life, yet not a bad one. She has come to terms with it and even enjoys herself in her own quirky way.
But one day the old house is closed to make way for a modern theater. Unfortunately, everyone has forgotten to share this great news with the prompter as well.Gardi Hutter, is not only award-winning clown from Switzerland, but as of now also a fresh winner of the Valentin Karlstadt Grand Prize!
On the covered open-air stage in the ufaFabrik, Gardi Hutter gives her famous piece The prompter for the first time. Since 1981, she has toured half the world with her "Clownesque Theater", with over 3500 performances in 33 countries. With her art she embodies a whole universe of emotions. This touches in its tragicomedy to the deepest, and is at the same time a giant-Gaudi.
