Saturday Night Fever - the cult musical of the disco era at Berlin's Tempodrom!
It's 1979 in Brooklyn, New York. Young Tony Manero works in a paint shop where no career awaits him. He lives into the day and only waits for Saturday evening when he goes to his disco "2001 Odyssey" to dance and meet his friends. His bourgeois family depresses him and it comes constantly to quarrels. When he once again meets his friends in the disco, he agrees to take part in the annual dance competition with Annette. That night, he sees Stephanie for the first time. She is a fantastic dancer and Tony only wants to compete with her. The two win, but Tony has the impression that a Puerto Rican couple danced much better, but did not win because of their lineage. Thereupon he hands over the prize to the two and draws Stephanies anger on himself...
Over a very long period the soundtrack with the most successful songs of the Bee Gees was the most sold album worldwide. At the height of the disco wave the movie "Saturday Night Fever" was released in 1977 and afterwards the musical with the well known disco hits "Stayin' Alive", "Night Fever", "Jive Talking", "You Should Be Dancing" and "How Deep is Your Love?"
