Free love, self-determined life, independent model? In Shakespeare's probably most-played tragedy, the love of a young couple tears open old wounds that were never healed, just covered up - and thus reveals what would be possible, namely the rapprochement of the enemy families...

The production by Shakespearean enthusiast Leonard for the Globe Ensemble Berlin picks up on the hunger for life, the spirit of research and the spirit of the Renaissance and transforms it into a theatre experience for the present. Supplemented by texts from Shakespeare's fragment "Die Fremden" (The Strangers), a play in the best folk theatre tradition is created, brought to the (open-air) stage at the Globe Berlin location in Charlottenburg by a versatile ensemble, full of linguistic richness, fast-paced battle scenes and intoxicating music.
