WELTKONZERTE: Klezmer Festival - in the Apostle Paul Church

Maltimes melancholic tender, sometimes with fire to dance - this is how this ambitious trio draws its Yiddish music in intense pictures. A Mekhaye are proven musicians from Hamburg who have been playing in various instrumentations for many years. Her repertoire is traditional klezmer music, instrumental and vocal, arranged with wit, sensitive and expressive.

A Mekhaye started performing in Hamburg 2011 as a trio. Since 2012 they can be heard regularly at the Altonale in Hamburg. Her musical background comes from various experiences in chamber and orchestral music as well as folk and street music in Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Lithuania, the Balkans and Israel. In 2015 they released together the CD "Friling". Taly Almagor and Stefan Goreiski already played together in 1989 at the Jiddish Festival in Krakow / Poland. Together with Maike Spieker (clarinet, bass clarinet) they found 2011 at the Yiddish Summer Weimar.
